Borša - Castle

Originally, there used to be a castle, probably of water type, at the place of the current manor house in Borša. The castle was made of stone and its history remains unknown. The written documents suggest that the castle was owned by several noble families (the Perins, Polónys, Lórantffys, Rákoczys).

Brehov - Monastery

The Baroque Monastery and Church of Minorites in Brehov comprises a three-bay building of the monastery attached to the older building of the church. This landmark dominates the village. The church is currently used for regular masses and the monastery is still occupied by Minorites.

Slanec - Castle

In the place where the Slánske Hills ridge in the East Slovakia is significantly low, there is a village called Slanec, with the remains of a medieval castle looming over it. In a document of 1230, it is stated as a castle used for the protection of a salt warehouse.

Herľany - Geyser

The natural cold geyser is a world rarity and a national cultural monument of Slovakia. The geyser can be found 28 km east of Košice, at the edge of the Košická Basin, more precisely on the premises of the old spa place Herľany - Rankovce.

Bačkov - Castlette

The traces of a medieval mansion - castlette, castle are probably under the ruins of the manor house directly in the village Bačkov. The village is located 8 km further from the Dagrov Pass and 5 km from Sečovce.

Protected Landscape Latorica

The Protected Landscape Latorica is the only larger protected area in the East Slovakia, which protects a lowland. The Protected Landscape body can be found in Trebišov. Of significance is the appearance of the European pond turtle which became part of the CHKO emblem.

Streda nad Bodrogom - Manor House

A Renaissance Manor House in the centre of the village Streda nad Bodrogom, the original medieval castle or castlette. Upon its extensive reconstruction in the 80s of the 20th century, the manor house serves nowadays as a ceremonial hall, a council office and the seat of several institutions.

Zemplín - Castle

In the Tisza lowland, more precisely in the heart of the Zemplín village, there is a mighty fortress on the hill called Várheď which translates as “castle hill”. On the premises of the fortress, there are two sacral buildings and in one of them, namely in the church belonging to the Reformed Church a Roman structure is hidden.
